20 years ago i thought we'd all be hovering around in our own little spacecraft by now
but nothing much has changed really
there 's still war everywhere, famine in africa, and tsunamis and hurricanes
earth is getting warmer though
our cozy little planet, a tiny pinpoint in the whole universe, is slowly getting angry about us little people fucking things up
she 'll get back to us
wipe us out somehow
sometime
i guess in a couple of centuries we'll have a whole new planet
i won't be around to witness this i guess
which is kinda scary

easy way out

we've been working pretty hard and fast the last couple of days. David did a lot of splendid guitar on Freaks, Part Of You, Shadowlands and Helping Hand.
I did vocals on Part of You and Helping Hand. Strings have been added.
Today we're having a go at Easy Way Out!

Today's the first day-off after 2 weeks of hard work.
We've done all drums and basses. We also taped all pianoparts, except for 2 songs.
What we got so far sounds pretty amazing, goddamn!
This week is dedicated to guitars and vocals.
Tomorrow, Raf Roesems, who will be mixing the album in january is paying us a visit. Looking forward to that.
We still got a gigantic mountain of work ahead of us, and a tough deadline, but something tells me everything will work out just amazingly fine. Hopefully it becomes the brilliant record we've all been working on for the last 6 months.
Hallelujah & praise the lord Jezus, our shepherd, our guide in the cold winter darkness!
Uh, sorry bout that last sentence: jingle bells just f*cked up my brain.

I heard some people say that when you stay in the studio long enough, you start having hallucinations. Lack of daylight, lack of oxygen, you know what I mean...
Yesterday, after doing piano on 3 songs, it was getting pretty warm in our cosy little worklab. And suddenly we all saw it! A gigantic burning red sun hovered above our heads! Was it planet Venus or Mars?
We all stood in awe, freaked out, and got the hell out of there...

Hi folks,
welcome to our studio-diary!

We're recording our new album, in fact, we've already started last weekend!
But hey, I didn't get the time to post anything yet, but from now on we'll update you on a daily basis.
So check up on the rumors, the gossip, the pictures and the dirt on this blog!

We started on sunday at the glorious Jetstudios in Brussels to record the bass and drums.
Dries did a bloody great job banging like an animal on those drums.
Filip rocked the bass until his fingers started to bleed. Or was it his nose?
Anyways, we 're pretty thrilled with the result, i can tell ya! You'll get a lot of pictures soon, i promise.
We recorded 10 euhmmm brilliant songs, a couple slow ones, but mostly uptempo rockers! This will definitely become a whole new chapter in the VIF-history, i'm pretty sure about that.
